Use music to support short and medium-term memory

  • This was filmed at Eden Court, a Cinnamon care home and Raleigh House, New Malden, a Staywell day care center.

This video shows a community choir in a day care center being conducted by Vivienne Lawrence. This is one of a number of choirs that are open to older people in South London and run by the charity, Voices of Hope. At Eden Court, we see the effects that engagement with music can have on memory – the ability to create new songs and to learn new songs.
