Make recordings of residents singing and speaking while they are able to

  • This was filmed at Eden Court, a Cinnamon care home.

This video shows examples of recording speech and singing whilst residents are still able to. We see residents using ‘switches’, simple buttons that can record snatches of song or speech, to communicate simple greetings such as ‘Hello’.

    • Record residents singing favourite songs for later reference and enjoyment when their access to language is more difficult or is completely lost.

    • Record particular words (e.g. ‘yes’ or ‘no’) from the short songs (see website) that could subsequently be triggered using technology

    • Send recordings of residents’ singing to family members and friends to help keep memories of them alive

    • Record family members singing (particularly grandchildren) to help residents remember them
