Create playlists

  • Creating individual playlists for older people can be a wonderful way of sharing memories through music and keeping family bonds alive. It is also an important way of acknowledging and connecting with someone's past.

    • Find out what music each resident enjoys and is familiar with in order to make them individual playlists

    • See examples on the website for how to make playlists when residents aren’t able to communicate their preferences

    • Put together different playlists for different occasionsE.g. calm music for stressful situations and pieces that are more lively when higher levels of arousal are needed

    • Keep notes of each resident’s responses and adjust playlists over time if needed
