  • This was filmed at Raleigh House, New Malden, a community day care centre, run by the charity Staywell.

This video shows some enthusiastic participation in a community choir. There are ideas for how to lead a choir of this type. These include the training required, the choice of repertoire and the helpful involvement of care staff.

    • See if some of your residents can join a local choir; plan the support they will need

    • See whether residents can attend local religious services or other gatherings that use music

    • Consider signing up for a local musical event E.g. ‘Messiah from scratch’

    • Find out whether there are local team sports events that residents can attend where the fans sing
